Theodore Roosevelt Island, Washington, DC

Theodore Roosevelt Island, Washington, DC

Theodore Roosevelt Island is an 88-acre island located in the Potomac River of Washington, DC. Before I visited this place, I did not know Ted Roosevelt is a person responsible for all the National Parks in the US that all of us enjoy so much!

There are trails around the island that mostly were covered and there are sections are wooded broad walk.  There were limited views of Virginia and Washington, DC from the Island: parts of Downtown Rosslyn, Georgetown, Key Bridge, Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Bridge, Part of Rock Creek and Potomac Park way, Mt Vernon Trial.

Three Pagodas (三塔)- Dali, China

Located in Dali, Yunnan Province, China, these three Pagodas were built in the time of Nanzhao Kingdom and Dali Kingdom in 9th and 10th century.

Three Pagodas - Dali, China

Built during 823-840 AD by King Quan Fengyou of Nanzhao Kingom.  These three pagodas were built to guard against natural disasters, such as earthquakes and floods, as per descriptions on the pagoda: "Forever Control Mountains and Rivers".

The three pagodas are made of one big pagoda and two smaller pagodas, forming a symmetric triangle. Behind the pagodas, is a reflection pond which gives these three pagodas an exquisite picture!
