Trip to South America - Punta del Este, Uruguay

This is definitely a tourist’s town.  Punta del Este presents beaches, elegant seaside homes, yacht harbor, high-rise apartment buildings, pricey hotels and restaurants… It is one of South America’s most glamorous resorts,  popular with Argentines and Brazilians, perhaps the most expensive place in Uruguay.  I also was very impressed with how clean the streets are and how warm and wonderful the services and people are at the restaurants.

Trip to South America- Wildlife Explorations: Peninsula Valdes

From Puerto Madryn port, 2 and half hour bus ride traveling across the Patagonia countryside, arriving at the Peninsula Valdes. We were told it is an UNESCO world heritage site. We journeyed to Caleta Valdes, a sheltered bay home to many unique marine creatures, including sea mammals and Patagonia shore and sea birds.

Trip to South America _ Cape Horn

I was told that  Cape Horn, is the southernmost point.
There are two objects can be seen on Cape Horn from the ship: A light house and a memorial.  Online document (http://www.caphorniers.cl/CH_monument.htm) states On December 5th 1992 the Cape Horn Memorial was inaugurated. It was erected through the initiative of the Chilean Section of the Cape Horn Captains Brotherhood, the "Cape Horners"; in memory of the men of the sea from every nation that lost their lives fighting against the merciless forces of nature of the Southern Ocean that prevail in the vicinity of the legendary Cape Horn.
