The King’s Palace (Grand Palace) Bangkok



Located at the heart of Bangkok, Thailand, the Grand Palace was a former residence for King Rama I to King Rama V of the Rattanakosin Kingdom. Today, the place is used for hosting royal ceremonies and welcoming the king's guests, State guests, and other foreign dignitaries.
During the visit to the palace, it was also the time, the Thai people mourning their then just passed King  Bhumibol Adulyadej.  Thousands of the Thai all dressed in black and white came from all over the country to pay  their respect.  Tourists were not allowed for that activity.

Bangkok City Tour

Driving through China town, Indian town, stop by to visit flower markets. Then to visit Vat Po, the oldest and largest temple in the city, with the astonishing giant reclining Buddha, over 150 feet long and almost 40 feet high. Drive to Royal Avenue where most of the government offices are located. On the street, you can see the portraits of King and Queen, even their children everywhere you go.

 

Bangkok Impression

No doubt, Bangkok is tourist’s heaven. The place is warm, the people are warm and exotic. The fruits are large, abundant and exotic. Temples and Buddha are everywhere. The traffic is horrible but who is in a hurry to go anywhere? Massage parlor are everywhere, restaurants and beer stands, night market are entirely devoted to provide souvenir for the tourist…. Above all, the city managed to be clean and orderly.
