Trip to Spain and Portugal- adventure to downtown Granada

With no time to lose, we walked all the way from our Airbnb to the town for dinner.  The streets were narrow and mostly paved with cobble stones, and the stores along the way to reach more modern part of the town. By the time we reached our restaurant, it was dark, and Alhambra was then lit and on the top of the mountains in the background.

Trip to Spain and Portugal- (5) Granada, Spain-a glimpse of Alhambra

Arriving in Granada, Spain on our way to the Airbnb was adventurous.  The BB owner had to come out on his bike to direct us to his place with me on the phone to take down his instructions.  The streets were narrow, and we needed to pay extra attention to see the street signs which were not obvious, but we arrived at last.

Here are couple of photos I snapped of the Alhambra from the streets of Grandad and later after we settled down in our B&B and walked to a nearby Church, which is on top of the B&B.  And again, photos of the Alhambra from a church.

This photo gives a very good view of the town:

Happy Spring! -From Virginia Bluebell at Riverbend Park

I've always wanted to see the Bluebell in the spring but have always missed it till this spring.  I finally made it to Riverbend Park where bluebell has made it home for many years.   I saw them there, so many of them along the trail that is off the Potomac River.  They like it there! It almost made me cry.  I've never seen so many blue colored wildflowers in one place!

Happy Spring! Cherry Blossom in Kenwood

End of the March and the beginning of April is the best time to see cherry blossom.  The best place is around the Tidal Basin in downtown DC.  It can be very crowded there.  The Kenwood neighborhood of Bethesda and Chevy Chase is a good alternative.  Kenwood's cherry trees were planted in the 1930s by the Kennedy-Chamberlin Development company.  According to the Kenwood Garden Club, this area features about 1,200 Yoshino cherry trees along the streets.  We went there a little bit late to catch the Blossom peak time, still, the blossoms and the houses in the Kenwood are very pretty and charming.
