WuLong furong Cave (Lotus Flower Cave 芙蓉洞)- Continued
To enter the cave, you must first take a cable car that take you from the bottom of the mountain up high into the mountain. The trip riding up itself is a beautiful journey that allow you to admire the water and mountain. Here are few photos taken in the cable car while going up and came back down.
WuLong furong Cave (Lotus Flower Cave 芙蓉洞)
Located in Jiangkou Town, Wulong County, Lotus Cave is 2,846 m (9,337 ft) long and covering an area of 37,000 sq meters (44,251 sq yards). The Lotus Flower Cave is another large limestone cave which formed about 1,200,000 years ago. The deep side of the cave maintains a steady temperature of 16.1℃; the heights of the inside cave are between 8 and 25 meters and the highest part can reach 48.3 meters; and the total area of the cave floor is 37,000 square meters.
On July 6, 2011, the cave was officially listed among the AAAAA (the highest rank)
It was named ‘Cave science museum’ by national geologists. Lotus Cave was celebrated as one 'The World’s Three Greatest Caves', along with Graemes Cave in France, and Mammoth Cave in the US.
