On the Way from Warsaw to Jasna Gora Monastery

We saw that same palm tree again under a sunny day on our way to Jasna Gora Monastery when we said goodbye to Warsaw.  Out of blue some colorful apartments came! A little chic Inn we stopped for a bathroom break with some wildflowers.

Wilanow Palace

With a beautiful garden outside, Wilanow Palace is a royal palace that survived World War II and serves as a reminder of the Polish culture before the 18th century.

Warsaw Old Town

This little colorful town was reconstructed after WWII.  It was said that the reconstruction was so precise that one can hardly tell if the building survived the war or if it was rebuilt. In 1980 UNESCO added the Warsaw Old Town to its list of World Heritage Sites.

Warsaw City Tour

It was said that 89% of Warsaw was destroyed in World War II.  The city I saw was relatively in modern architecture.  For some reason, they seemed all in gray color tone.  Not as populated as other 4 capitals visited in this trip.  So, there was not a lot traffic congestions and the sites visited have few tourist.  The city was peaceful and quiet.
Here are some photos taken from a city tour:
Warsaw city streets which includes Warsaw’s Palace of Culture, Stalin’s gift: Built by 3,500 Soviet workers after Poland’s capital was flattened by Nazi bombs, the building now stands as a contested symbol of the country’s complex past.  A plastic made palm tree; Lazienki Park to view Chopin’s statue and Jozef Pilsudski statue; Umschlagplatz Monument in the Warsaw Ghetto;  Monument to the Ghetto Heroes and Polin Museum of the History of Polish Jew.
