Senic Drive from Krakow to Budapest (4)

In a small village of Orawka, there is St. John Baptist Church, the oldest existing wooden church in the upper Orava region of Poland.  We were told it was built in 1651-1656 from top quality knot-free larch timber using the horizontal log technique.  The church set on a hill top with scenic view of valleys and mountains far away and a charming little cemetery in the back yard.

Scenic drive from Krakow to Budapest (1)

This scenic drive took you to see many towns before reaches Budapest.  You see the crops in the fields, different colored and styled churches, houses and buildings, where highway is being built, the water and mountain under blue sky and white clouds, the castles and sunflower fields….















Visiting Aushwitz-Nazi’s concentration camp

I never imagined that one day I would visit this place in person.  I'd learned about the Nazi's concentration camp in Auschwitz on TV but what I saw with my own eyes still shocked me!
We learned from the guide, who the prisoners were, and how they got there.  The process of selecting and assigning prisoners to various work assignments, how their possessions (including woman's hair were collected, what the living conditions of the prisoners were, and how were they murdered there (usually after three months of hard labor and poor health).
