A day in Baltimore

Just outside of the Walters Art Museum, Mount Vernon Square located in the downtown Baltimore is a pleasant place to visit.  You will see America’s first Washington Monument.  It is surrounded by a park, beautiful Mt. Vernon Place United Methodist Church, colorful apartments with unique architectures and George Peabody Library.   And nearby, there are also couple of landmarks and famous buildings:
-Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (a national historic landmark)
-First & Franklin Presbyterian Church
-New Unity Baptist Church
-Bank of America Building
-Two other unidentified buildings, I guess, I will need to go back to visit again.

Happy Chinese Lunar New Year

To celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year, the Walters Art Museum organized some activities scheduled from 11 am to 4:30 pm on Sunday.  Photos were taken while visiting the museum.  This museum has collected more than 36, 000 objects from around the world. We only get time to see about 1/4th of the exhibits and here are photos of my favorite objects.
Last two photos were Mount Vernon Square seen from top floor of the museum window.

Ho Chi Minh City - a mixing pot of new and old

In their long-term planning, Vietnam plans to develop the southern key economic region, taking Ho Chi Minh City as the central hub, into an economic engine for the whole country. I saw majestic hotels, skyscrapers, spacious, clear and beautiful spaces. The old side of the city shows the city's dirty and poverty. Here are some of the photos taken walking around this part of the city. The first half represents new, and the second half represents old.
