Located at the heart of Bangkok,
Thailand, the Grand
Palace was a former residence for King Rama I
to King Rama V of the Rattanakosin Kingdom. Today, the place is used for
hosting royal ceremonies and welcoming the king's guests, State guests,
and other foreign dignitaries.
During the visit to the palace, it was also
the time, the Thai people mourning their then just passed King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Thousands of the Thai all dressed in black and
white came from all over the country to pay their respect.
Tourists were not allowed for that activity.
