Rio de Janeiro
With its plentiful beaches, dramatic mountains, and the
statue of Christ the Redeemer (listed as one of the new 7 wonders of the
world), Rio de Janeiro has been one of
Brazil’s most popular tourist destinations. Rio is the second
largest city in Brazil and the third largest metropolis in the whole of South
America. The city hosted the 2016 Summer
Olympics™.
Here are some of the photos taken while visiting the city
and their many fabulous beaches. The
city that was both new and old; the clean beach and the dirty streets, graffiti everywhere; the locals are busy
getting ready for their Carnival, the breath taking beautiful bike trails
along the cost, the rich and famous hang out places and the poor people’s slum on the
hill….
Sugarloaf Mountain, Rio, Brazil
It's name is said to refer to its resemblance to the
traditional shape of concentrated refined sugarloaf. It is known worldwide for its cable way and
panoramic views of the city, Sugarloaf Mountain is another must visit when you are in
Rio. It’s hill top provides you panoramic
view of Rio from different angles than what provided by Crist the Redeemer plate
on Corcovado mountain. To reach the summit of this mountain, you
will take cable car. It first takes you to a platform in between the ground
level and Sugarloaf Mountain, then from
there, the car transfers you to another cable car to reach the summit. Here are the photos taken from that journey
at two different levels overlooking the city of Rio.
Christ the Redeemer, Re de Janeiro, Brazil
Located at the top of the Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca
Forest National Park, Christ the Redeemer is an statue of Jesus Christ created
by French sculptor Paul Landowski.
The statue is said to weight 635 tons and is overlooking the
city of Rio de Janeiro and is listed as one of the New 7 wonders of the world. From there you see the city of Rio de Janeiro's beautiful mountains especially Sugarloaf Mountains decorated by the water and city.
