Messina is located in northeastern Sicily, Italy. It is the capital of the province of Messina with a rich history dating back to ancient times. The city is nestled between mountains and the shimmering blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea, providing picturesque views and a pleasant climate.

Messina boasts an array of architectural gems that showcase its cultural heritage. The Messina Cathedral, or the Duomo di Messina, is a magnificent example of Norman architecture and is home to the famous astronomical clock.

The city is also known for its delicious seafood dishes, such as swordfish, anchovies, and sardines. Traditional Sicilian pastries, including cannoli and cassata.

Here are some of the photos I took walking around the town.

Upon stepping in town, there was a military band welcoming us

First there is a I love Messina sign which is popular for taking pictures.  The city hall is right behind the sign with a beautiful garden in front of it.

In a very short walk, we have arrived famous bell tower astronomical clock and  Cathedral and the Piazza del Duomo

21- Naples, Italy from afar

When we arrived in Naples, it was a beautiful, sunlit day, a stark contrast to the day we finally had the opportunity to set foot in the city. The colors vibrantly came to life, painting the city in a mesmerizing hue. However, our joy was short-lived as the weather suddenly took a turn, turning the sky into a dark, cloudy expanse. Nonetheless, I captured some delightful views of the city from the ship, preserving moments of happiness.

Just walked out of the terminal, the city was right in front of us

20 Naples, Italy-Castel dell'Ovo

Castel dell'Ovo is a historic castle located in Naples, Italy. It is one of the city's most iconic landmarks and is situated on a small island called Megaride in the Gulf of Naples.

The castle's origins can be traced back to the 6th century BC, when the Greeks first established a settlement in the area. Over the centuries, it was used by various rulers and kingdoms, including the Romans, Byzantines, Normans, and Aragonese.

Today, Castel dell'Ovo is open to visitors and serves as a cultural center, hosting exhibitions, concerts, and other events. It is also a popular spot for tourists and locals to enjoy the stunning views of the Gulf of Naples and the surrounding area.

Upon walking into the opening area of Naples from the ship, we saw it right in front of you; again, while visiting the Royle Palace, and finally on the hop-on-and-hop-off bus.  Unfortunately, we did not have time to visit inside of it.

Here are some photos I took seeing it from different places.
