20 Naples, Italy-Castel dell'Ovo

Castel dell'Ovo is a historic castle located in Naples, Italy. It is one of the city's most iconic landmarks and is situated on a small island called Megaride in the Gulf of Naples.

The castle's origins can be traced back to the 6th century BC, when the Greeks first established a settlement in the area. Over the centuries, it was used by various rulers and kingdoms, including the Romans, Byzantines, Normans, and Aragonese.

Today, Castel dell'Ovo is open to visitors and serves as a cultural center, hosting exhibitions, concerts, and other events. It is also a popular spot for tourists and locals to enjoy the stunning views of the Gulf of Naples and the surrounding area.

Upon walking into the opening area of Naples from the ship, we saw it right in front of you; again, while visiting the Royle Palace, and finally on the hop-on-and-hop-off bus.  Unfortunately, we did not have time to visit inside of it.

Here are some photos I took seeing it from different places.
