A Detour from Camino de Santiago - 1 on the way to San Sebastain

I decided to take a detour from walking the Camino de Santiago to explore the enchanting cities of San Sebastián and Bilbao. During my journey on the bus from Estella to San Sebastián, I had the opportunity to capture some incredible photos. As we passed through Puente la Reina, I was pleasantly surprised by the picturesque view of the bridge, and I managed to capture a stunning shot. The ever-changing Spanish countryside showcasing diverse geological features along the way. Here are some of the photos I took during this one and half hour bus ride.

*Puente la Reina is a historic bridge located in the town of Puente la Reina in Navarre, Spain. Also known as the Bridge of the Queen, it is a remarkable medieval bridge that spans the Arga River. The bridge holds great historical significance as it was an important crossing point for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, the renowned pilgrimage route to the Santiago de Compostela. Constructed in the 11th century, Puente la Reina is an architectural gem characterized by its elegant Romanesque style. The bridge features six pointed arches supported by robust stone pillars, and its design showcases the craftsmanship of that era. Crossing the bridge offers not only a functional passage but also an opportunity to appreciate its historical and architectural beauty.
