Foreigners need a visa or an approved Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) to enter Australia. You can apply for the visa online through the Department of Home Affairs, and it will be registered to your passport number. There is a $15 fee for the application. In Sydney, the main public transportation is Tram and Ferry. You can use any touchless card to pay for it.
For Tram you will by tapping on and tapping off at Opal readers which is on the Tram platform. Contactless payments are accepted on all public transport in the Opal network and you pay same fair as an Adult Opal card.
