Roxborough State Park- Denver, Colorado
Roxborough State Park is a popular state park located in the southwestern suburbs of Denver, Colorado, in the United States. The park covers an area of approximately 4,000 acres and is home to a variety of geological formations, including red sandstone formations, rock outcroppings, and scenic vistas.
The park's most notable geological feature is the Fountain Formation, which is a red sandstone formation that is approximately 300 million years old. The formation is home to a variety of fossils, including marine animals, plants, and insects. The park's Visitor Center has exhibits that showcase these fossils, as well as other natural and cultural history of the area.
I have hiked through many national parks, and I believe that the views from the various hiking trails here in Roxborough State Park are the most breathtaking, as if they could only exist in one's dreams. Even days after returning home, I find myself still dreaming about them. I absolutely love that feeling.
