17 Naples, Italy- Galleria Unberto I

This is a public shopping gallery located directly across from the San Carlo opera house.

Galleria Umberto I is a stunning 19th-century shopping arcade located in the heart of Naples, Italy. It was built in 1891 and named after King Umberto I of Italy. The arcade is considered one of the most beautiful shopping centers in Europe and is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.

The arcade is designed in the shape of a cross, with a glass-vaulted ceiling that is over 50 meters high. The arcade is decorated with beautiful mosaics and sculptures, and the floor is made of white marble with a black border, creating a stunning contrast.

The Galleria Umberto I is home to several shops, restaurants, cafes, and boutiques, selling everything from luxury Italian fashion to local souvenirs. There are also several famous landmarks located near the arcade, including the Teatro di San Carlo, the Royal Palace of Naples, and the Piazza del Plebiscito.

One of the highlights of the Galleria Umberto I is the central octagonal space, which is surrounded by four grand arches leading to each of the arcade's wings. At the center of the octagonal space is a beautiful bronze statue of King Umberto I, which is a popular spot for tourists taking photos.
